[摘要] 介绍了美国联邦应急管理局和国家建筑科学研究所合作开发的HAZUS 99房屋建筑地震损失估计方法的结构部分，能力谱法是其中的关键。详细介绍了HAZUS 99结构部分的总体思路，最后指出了HAZUS 99采用能力谱法进行震害预测的意义。

Application of capacity spectrum method in HAZUS 99

Abstract: The earthquake loss estimation, methodology HAZUS 99 developed by Federal Emergency Management Agency ( FEMA)  was introduced. The application of capacity spectrum method is the key part of the building damage estimation process in HAZUS 99. The building damage estimation process was introduced. Finally, the significance of the application of capacity spectrum method in HAZUS 99 was pointed out.
