[摘要] 任何结构或体系在设计时最应关注的问题是居住者的安全。但在最近的几次大震之后,人们越来越关注能够在大震后快速恢复使用的可恢复性结构及生命线工程。本文讨论了可恢复性社区的工程要素,强调要增强那些对于社区震后恢复很重要的结构物和生命线工程的震后运转能力,及增强居民就地维修房屋的能力。

( Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Califomia, Berkeley, USA)Abstract: Safety of occupants is of paramount importance in the design of any structure or system. However, in the aftermath of recent major earthquakes, worldwide attention has increasingly focused on the need for resilient structures and lifelines that are able to return to service quickly following a major earthquake. In this paper, engineering aspects of resilient communities are discussed, focusing on increasing the post-earthquake operability of those structures and lifelines critical to a community's needs in the aftermath ofa major earthquake and the ability of occupants to "shelter-in-place" during repairs.
