[提要]  新中国的地基基础工程科学五十年来取得的巨大进展是旧中国无法相比的，作者回顾了我国五十年来地基基础科学的发展，重点介绍了在特殊土地基、高层建筑箱筏基础、桩基础等方面的科学研究及贡献。提出了土力学理论、深基坑开挖、地下空间的利用等方面有待研究和解决的问题，可供从事相关领域工作的广大工程技术人员参考。

The brilliant achievements of soil and foundation engineering have been gained since the founding of P. R.China. The research on special soil foundation, box-foundation and piled foundation and the contribution to foundation engineering are briefly introduced. Some questions to be solved, such as soil mechanics, the excavation of deep foundation pit, the application of underground space, are put forward, which is a reference for engineers and technicians.
