[提要]  介绍了西安电视塔场地的地质构造、地基方案的选择、基础设计及沉降观测结果。长达13年之久的沉降观测结果表明，绝对沉降值和相对沉降值均接近规范允许值，西安电视塔采用天然地基是经济合理的。

This article introduces the geologic structure of the site, the choice of the foundation project, the base
design and settlement observation results of Xi'an TV Tower. Outcomes of thirteen years survey of the
settlement indicate that the adoption of a natural base for Xi'an TV Tower is economical and rational, as its absolute settlement and relative settlement both come near to regulation permission.
