[提要]  主要介绍第五章结构设计与构造要求。这一章不但是基础设计的重点，而且与上部结构关系甚为密切。本章的内容较多，涉及的范围也很广，新老规范间的变动也很大。无论对基础工程师还是结构工程师来说，难度都很大。另外还补充了许多规范没有编入的内容，供读者参考。

Chapter 5 about structural design and structural demand are introduced, which is the focal point of foundation design and has a close relation with upper structure. This chapter has many contents and wide range, and the alteration between the new and old code is great. We do our best to make it easily understood by different readers. We also give many additional contents for reference.
