An intersecting welding space structure of steel pipe is used for the steel construction of Xi'an International Exhibition Centre, which consists of the long-span spatial truss with stayed-cables, the decorative latticed shell and lobby wind resisting truss etc. The complicated structure incorporates a reinforced concrete structure and a spatial steel structure with a stayed-cable structure. The key to the project design is coordinating the internal forces of the combined structure into its deformations. A monolithic structural analysis is conducted on the whole building space model using a program SAP93.
