[提要]  对短柱基础能否作为框架底层柱的嵌固端提出看法，旨在减少底层柱的计算长度，以满足底层的侧向刚度不小于相邻上一层侧向刚度的70%，使结构计算简单化，避免繁琐的计算，供工程设计的同行参考。

Basing on the demonstration about the design of puncheon foundation, whether puncheon foundation can be inbuilt-end of frame bottom post is presented. The aim is to decrease the effective length of bottom post, and make side-stiffiness of bottom not less than 70%of that of adjacent superstratum. Consequently,it avoids large numbers of calculation. Also, it is useful for engineering design and further study.
