Comparison of the top of the mid pillar in double span portal frame using

 rigid connection and hinged connection

Abstract: Steel structure portal frame is widely used, this article compared the top of the mid pillar in double span portal frame using rigid connection and hinged connection. Node construction, the stress reserve and the displacement of structure with the two models were compared. The advantage and disadvantage of the two models were analyzed.
