南部非洲红砂地基工程特性初探

[摘要]南部非洲红砂是一种问题土。针对安哥拉首都罗安达和莫桑比克首都马普托红砂,收集、分析了浅层平板载荷试验、标准贯入试验资料和室内试验资料。给出了目前取得的初步分析成果,该红砂具有湿陷性,其孔隙比大,干密度小,表现为天然状态时强度高,浸湿时则强度明显软化,即因湿化而致沉陷量明显加大,因而容易出现由于管道渗漏而导致建筑物出现过大的不均匀沉降量。本研究可为岩土工程师和结构工程师正确把握红砂地基工程特性提供帮助。

Preliminary discussion on geotechnical characteristics of red sand in southern Africa

Abstract: Red sand in southern Africa is a kind of problematic soil. Experimental data of shallow plate load tests, standard penetration tests and lab tests were collected and analyzed for the red sand in Angola′s capital Luanda and Mozambique′s capital Maputo. Preliminary analysis results were provided. Results show that the red sand is one kind of collapsible soil with large void ratio and small dry density, and its strength is higher when keeping natural water content and is obviously lower when getting wet. The wetting causes significantly increased subsidence, so excessive uneven settlement of buildings would occur as a result of pipe leaking. The study can provide help for soil engineers and structural engineers to understand the geotechnical characteristics of red sand.
